Birding at Kiboko Khaya
The deck of Kiboko Khaya is truly outstanding when it comes to birding.
Seen from the decking, the extremely rare, huge and gorgeous Pel’s Fishing Owl. If we see it we will join a small band of bird lovers to have seen this amazing bird. We cannot promise, of course, but it is a relatively regular visitor.
Also the rare African Finfoot nested within sight of the deck in 2009. Just sit a while, watch and listen – incredible. This is a place where the birds really do come to you!

Less Travel - Quality birding time
The emphasis will be on less travel and more quality birding time. Kiboko Khaya lies within the Greater Kruger National Park and boasts well over 300 species of outstanding birds, many of which are not to be seen anywhere else in the World.

experienced guide...
Brian Steele-Drew has been birding for over 24 years in South Africa and is Field Guide Association of South Africa accredited. His expertise of this area of South Africa is, truly, second to none. If it is out there, Brian will find it! This is a trip that should not be missed by the avid birder. But that’s not all. Of course we have the animals to go with it. Our game drives will be unable to miss many of the other living species that live on Grietjie.
